About Our Presenter
Nicole Kelly was born and raised in Keokuk, Iowa. She proudly served on the Iowa State Thespian Board her senior year of high school in 2008-2009 year. (To this day, it was her favorite part of high school.) After spending every summer at the National Thespian Festival in Lincoln, Nebraska, Nicole decided to attend UNL and get a degree in directing and theater management. Nicole went on to work backstage in various professional theaters across the country. These theaters include: The Williamstown Theater Festival, The Santa Fe Opera, Manhattan Theater Club, and Steppenwolf Theater Company. Her strangest job in theater to date was being the "mom" to the Finding Neverland child actors while the show played it's out of town run at the American Repertory Theater. Today you can find Nicole working in production at a theater & museum fabrication company called Ravenswood Studio in Chicago. She also is proudly serving as an advisory company member to the National Disability Theatre. Nicole Kelly stepped into the role of public figure after winning the 2013 title of Miss Iowa and going on to compete at the 2014 Miss America Pageant. She gained attention for being one of only a few competitors to have ever competed with a physical disability. After working for a year as Miss Iowa and traveling across the country to advocate for those living with a disability, Nicole transitioned into speaking professionally. Nicole is represented by Keppler Speaking Agency and has proudly spoken at hundreds of K-12 schools and given educational lectures at universities across the country. Nicole's proudest moment was when she served as the emcee at the Kennedy Center's celebration for the 25th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act. In 2017 Nicole completed her masters degree in broadcast journalism at Northwestern University's Medill School of Journalism.

About Our Presenters
Aidan McSperrin graduated from Wahlert Catholic High School three yearsago, cheated and bribed his way through Iowa State University to earn his BA in two years, and returned to Wahlert before the last of his old high school theatre buddies graduated to run the school’s theatre department this past year. Among the many highlights of his first year as a Theatre Arts Director, one was directing, set designing, and choreographing the musicals Little Shop of Horrors and Anything Goes. Throughout time, Aidan has gained some sort of first hand experience in nearly every aspect of theatre production - lighting/set/costume design, theatrical set construction/painting, stage shifting, fly operation, choreography, writing, directing, producing, listing things to sound credible, and (his favorite) giant killer plant puppet building. Fun on stage credits include Cabaret (Emcee), The Phantom of the Opera (Raoul), Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Lumiere), Peter Pan (Captain Hook), The Wizard of Oz (Tin Man), Big Fish (Edward Bloom), Seussical (Cat in the Hat), The Drowsy Chaperone (Aldolpho), and Urinetown (Officer Lockstock). In addition to running a high school theatre department at age twenty (which was super fun!), his recent accomplishments include bringing joy to literally a lot of people as a pizza delivery boy and ensuring that no gallon is left behind as a dairy stocker/checker at a grocery store with his brother.
Brady McSperrin is really good at a lot of theatre stuff too. Over the years, he’s spent most of his time performing or behind the scenes in a vast variety of an array of a multitude of differently unique theatrical productions. He especially enjoys working as a designer/technician, having developed production specials such as the mechanisms behind the Heretic’s Chair for The Addams Family , and the structure and mechanics of the six foot plus tall Audrey II puppet for Little Shop of Horrors . He also made his debut as a lighting designer for Little Shop of Horrors in addition to performing in the show as Mr. Mushnik. Other performance credits include Legally Blonde (Warner), Shrek The Musical (Pinocchio), Disney’s Beauty and the Beast (Lefou), Sister Act (TJ), The Addams Family (Pugsley), and The Little Mermaid (Chef Louis). On top of performing on stage, Brady has performed in the pit orchestra as the lead percussionist for The Addams Family, Disney's Newsies, and Anything Goes. Brady is serving his school’s theatre troupe this year as the Creative Chair for their thespian board, and he’s serving his tristate area as checker extraordinaire at a grocery store with his brother. |

About Our Presenter
Stacy Hansen's passion for speech/theatre education was kindled at Exira High School by her own IHSSA Director, Ms. Berryhill. At Iowa State, she was active onstage as well as off in all things theatrical. She broadened her education with the theatre community at Chicago’s College of Performing Arts at Roosevelt University where she received her MA in Directing. Stacy taught theatre and speech at Clinton High School for eight years. Since 2001, she has served as West Des Moines Valley High School’s IHSSA Director and Drama Director. And for the past six years, she has joyfully fulfilled the role as the IHSSA Coach at Large where the focus is always on the spirit, the success, and the soulful safety of each individual IHSSA student’s journey. Among her many joys, she places her family at the top. Through the loving support of her husband Derek and the always energy and enthusiasm of her children Lincoln and Scout, she experiences the world anew each day. The personal relationships that develop among students, families, and schools continue to fuel her passion for speech and theatre. Stacy truly believes that something can always be learned from each person in every moment of life.
