Happy Teacher Appreciation Week! You’re in the home stretch of the school year! As you celebrate your graduating students, take time to acknowledge the part you played in their lives. It may not be evident in the moment, but you have had a greater impact than you know. You are so very appreciated for all that you do for each and every one of your students. Thank you! Below are updates from EdTA / Iowa Thespians: Troupe Renewal Dues - DISCOUNT! Each spring, EdTA offers Troupe Directors the option to renew their membership dues early. If you choose to renew by May 31, 2026, you can secure your 2026–27 troupe membership at a discounted rate of $126, with no change to your current troupe expiration date. Visit your EdTA Member Portal to renew now and use code EarlyRenewTroupe26 at checkout. Renewals completed using this discount code, with payment or purchase order by May 31, will receive this rate. After that, standard dues ($145) apply. Iowa Thespians Leadership Day 2026 | Registration Open! You are formally invited to bring your Student Leaders to our annual Leadership Day on Saturday, August 8th at Boone High School! This is a chance for students to collaborate with other Student Leaders from across the state. Students interested in serving as State Thespian Officers for the 2026-2027 school year are encouraged to attend. Cost is $25 per attendee and includes Leadership Day events, lunch, and a t-shirt. Check out the Leadership Day Registration Form. Registration is due June 1st. You do not need to have a chartered Thespian Troupe or Student Board to attend! All are welcome! Payment will be due at the time of the event. Iowa Thespian Festival 2026 | Mainstage Application Open! Consider bringing a Mainstage Performance to the Iowa Thespian Festival on the GBPAC Stage! Applications are NOW OPEN for the 2026 Iowa Festival. Not sure what your fall looks like yet? No problem. The application will remain open for a few months to allow ample planning. Applications are due June 19th. If you have any questions, please reach out to our Mainstage Coordinator, Tom Stephens ([email protected]). Theatre Education Conference | Registration Open! Registration is open for the Theatre Education Conference this summer. The conference is designed for educators from across the country. This year, the conference will take place in New York City between July 22-24. Registration includes: tickets to two Broadway shows, 30+ concurrent workshops, special access to the Drama Book Shop and Museum of Broadway, networking events, receptions, late-night karaoke, and a Professional Development Certificate. Learn more and register here. The Hotel Registration deadline is June 17 and the Conference Registration deadline is July 22. Iowa Thespians Performance Calendar Help us promote your upcoming shows!
