Tech Challenge

This year, for our Virtual Iowa Thespian Festival, schools will have the opportunity to participate in a streamlined, virtual Tech Challenge.  Virtual Tech Challenge will include four simplified solo Tech Challenge events, all of which can be practiced and recorded from home for competition submission:

1. Knot Tying
2. Tape a Ground Plan
3. Sew a Button
4. Costume Quick Change.

Troupes are limited to two participants per event. The following is an overview of how Virtual Tech Challenge will work:

  • Friday, February 26: Practice and competition supplies will be shipped to participant schools.
  • Monday, March 15:  1-hour Zoom information and practice session, REQUIRED for all participants.
  • Monday, March 22: Video submission due date.
  • Wednesday, March 24:  Results posted, including videos of top 3 schools
  • Friday, March 26: Recognition at closing ceremonies

Questions about Virtual Tech Challenge can be directed to Kate Baumgartner at baumgkat@gmail.com.
